Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling out Jake Paul after he took shots at Bad Bunny over his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
What did AOC say to Jake Paul after he called Bad Bunny a ‘fake American citizen’?
On Sunday, Paul echoed the sentiments of fellow Trump supporters, who were inexplicably triggered by Bad Bunny’s performance. Paul called Bad Bunny “a fake American citizen.”
“Purposefully turning off the halftime show,” he wrote on X. “Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences.”
That’s when AOC jumped in in defense of Bad Bunny: “A ‘fake American citizen?’ Didn’t you MOVE to Puerto Rico to avoid paying your taxes while kids across America go hungry?” she wrote. “Meanwhile Benito actually funds low income kids’ access to arts and sports programs, while you defund them.
She added, “Of course you’re mad. He makes you look small.”
Purposefully turning off the halftime show
Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences
(which equals viewership for them)
You are their benefit. Realize you have power.
Turn off this halftime. A fake American…

Jake Paul and his brother Logan moved to Puerto Rico in 2021
Rolling Stone reported that they moved to the island for tax breaks and other incentives. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny has been calling out celebrities like Paul for taking advantage of Puerto Rico. The Grammy winner shared how he felt about rich expats via his music video for “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which highlights how locals are being displaced by the wealthy.
In a 2022 interview, Logan called out Bad Bunny, saying it’s “hypocritical because Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican, living in Puerto Rico, who is privately taking advantage of the same tax program that he is publicly condemning,” according to RollingStone.
On Sunday, however, Logan said he doesn’t agree with his brother’s comments about Bad Bunny’s halftime show.
“I love my brother but I don’t agree with this,” he wrote on X. “Puerto Ricans are Americans & I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island.”
