Fans got their first look at the highly anticipated trailer drop for Goosebumps: The Vanishing, the latest installment in the anthology series based on the classic books of the same name by R.L. Stine, entitled Goosebumps. The trailer dropped today at New York Comic Con and teased a different mystery that audiences in the beloved series would love.
Twins Cece and Devin Brewer are shipped off to Gravesend, Brooklyn, to spend the summer with their estranged father played by Friends star David Schwimmer-in Goosebumps: The Vanishing. What they quickly find is that something far from harmless lurks beneath the quiet neighborhood’s surface. As strange things begin to unravel, Cece and Devin, along with their friends, become embroiled in the eerie disappearance of four local teens from 1994, which then leads to an investigation into some dark secrets that are threatening their own safety.
The Vanishing, now subtitled for the release of all eight episodes on January 10, 2025, will stream on both Disney+ and Hulu, continuing yet another exciting chapter for the series that has captured audiences young and old alike. Other series regulars joining the cast in Season Two include Ana Ortiz, star of Ugly Betty, as Jen; Jayden Bartels as Cece; Sam McCarthy as Devin; Elijah M. Cooper as CJ; Galilea La Salvia as Frankie; Francesca Noel as Alex; and Stony Blyden as Trey.
The series is presented by Sony Pictures Television and Disney Branded Television and was developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, who serves alongside Hilary Winston as an executive producer/showrunner on the series. Additional notable executive producers include Stoller, Letterman, Winston and Neal H. Moritz.
It will include some familiar scares in the new season, drawing inspiration from such classic Goosebumps books as Stay Out of the Basement, Monster Blood, The Haunted Car, and Welcome to Camp Nightmare, among others.
With Goosebumps continuing to be among the top-selling children’s book series of all time, this new iteration promises to live up to its name, bringing a new generation of youngsters back to those spine-tingling mysteries and thrills.
