VIZ Media Unveils Teaser for ‘Hirayasumi’ Anime Adaptation Set for 2027

VIZ Media, the global big-name for manga and anime, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions just released the official teaser trailer and key art for the anime version of the series based on the award-winning manga by Keigo Shinzo. The series is scheduled for release in 2027.

The manga has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2021. VIZ has published the English version since May 2024 and has blown up worldwide. VIZ claims that the manga has more than 1.5 million copies in circulation worldwide. The series has gained several awards, including the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award.

Teaser Visual: Meet the laid-back hero

The newly released teaser visual and promo for the series introduce the show’s hero, Hiroto Ikuta. Ikuta is a laid-back and carefree 29-year-old who inherits a modest home after befriending his elderly neighbor. The teaser visual for the series shows Hiroto Ikuta standing in front of the modest home.

The teaser for the series has the tagline “Where a house becomes a home.” The teaser highlights the series’ relaxed, gentle tone. The series revolves around the hero and those around him as they face various problems and are gradually drawn into his relaxed, comfortable presence.

The Official Synopsis

At 29, Hiroto Ikuta has no girlfriend, no steady job, and no idea what the future holds. And he’s just fine with that. Ikuta’s relaxed attitude isn’t always well understood by the people around him. In a world full of anxiety, confusion, and grief, Ikuta and the people around him are just trying to make it through the day.

Meet The Production Staff

The anime film is being directed by Kei Suezawa, who’s also taking on series composition and scriptwriting duties. Suezawa has previously worked on anime such as Fate/Grand Order: Camelot – Wandering; Agaterama, and FLCL Progressive.

Character designs are being handled by Naoyuki Asano, who’s also worked on Urusei Yatsura, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, and Mr. Osomatsu.
