The Virginia State women’s basketball team just secured its biggest win of the season so far, handing Virginia Union its first conference loss following a 67-60 victory.

With the win, Virginia State improved to 6-1 in CIAA competition, keeping pace with Bowie State at the top of the CIAA’s Northern division,

The Trojans now hold a 13-4 overall record, including a perfect home record of 8-0.

Meanwhile, in their first game since Jan. 5 after a scheduled matchup against Newport News Apprentice School was canceled, Virginia Union dropped to 4-1 in conference play with the loss.
