The Division II HBCU football season is at the halfway point and there is still a lot to be decided with a major log jam at the top of the standings in the two major conferences.
In the first official Division II rankings of the season, Benedict takes the top spot after retaining its status as the last remaining undefeated team in HBCU football, following a dominant win over Clark Atlanta.
Behind them is five one-loss teams, including the two-time defending CIAA champions Virginia Union, who put up a season-best 59 points in a win against Shaw.
