Ava Raine, a former WWE NXT General Manager and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, spoke out against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on social media following the news that her WWE contract would not be renewed.

“And now that i can say this with my full chest, 🖕🏽 ice and that entire administration,” Ava posted on X just hours after revealing that her WWE contract would not be renewed and would expire on Jan. 29, 2026.

Many people saw this as a shot at ICE and the administration regarding the incoming Trump administration and their potential policies on immigration and deportations in 2026.

Fans seemed to be on Ava’s side when it came to this post. There were over 130 replies on the post with many people giving Ava props on speaking out about politics and many middle fingers in GIF form. One fan commented on the post saying Ava “has always used her platform for good long before she even debuted for WWE,” and another fan commented on whether or not Ava’s views on politics had anything to do with WWE not renewing her contract. “Wondering if this had anything to do with WWE not renewing your contract,” the fan wrote. “There have been a few people in the past who left WWE due to political differences.”

Ava Raine, whose real last name is Johnson, posted on Instagram last month revealing that she would be leaving WWE and confirming rumors that she would be finishing up at 24 years old. She is the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and is a fourth-generation wrestler like her dad, granddad Rocky Johnson, and great-granddad High Chief Peter Maivia.

She signed up with WWE in February 2020 and began training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, becoming the first fourth-generation wrestler in the company’s history. Ava made her on-screen television debut on the Oct. 25, 2022, edition of NXT, where she became a part of the Schism faction led by Joe Gacy.

Ava’s in-ring debut occurred at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 1, 2023, in an eight-man tag match where The Schism faced Chase University. However, after the Schism faction was dissolved later in 2023, Ava transitioned to an on-screen role as an authority figure, first as an assistant to Shawn Michaels, the Senior VP of Talent Development Creative.

Ava was named the new General Manager of NXT on Jan. 23, 2024, becoming the youngest person in WWE history to hold the role at the age of 22. Some of her most notable moments include her NXT Stand & Deliver announcement in April 2024, where she introduced the new NXT Women’s North American Championship, a secondary singles title for the women’s division.

Ava held the role of General Manager until her most recent announcement about her departure, marking a short but significant stint in her WWE career and the start of a new era in her more outspoken role.
