Speaking of comeback, Diaz will star opposite Jamie Foxx in Netflix’s action-comedy movie Back in Action, which will be released on January 17, 2025.  The film which Seth Gordon directed co-stars Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, Kyle Chandler, and Glenn Close. it centers around Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Foxx), former CIA operatives brought back from retirement after years. It was revealed that the series will drop on Netflix on January 17, 2025.

Now back to her audition tape for “The Mask,” it’s noteworthy that Diaz, then 21, had no prior acting experience and was working as a model.

Despite this, she impressed the producers and was cast as Tina Carlyle, starring alongside Jim Carrey. Director Chuck Russell recalled that Diaz’s “fresh comedic presence” and natural chemistry with Carrey were pivotal in her selection for the role.

“Cameron was a model, she hadn’t acted before, but… she just had a fantastic look,” Russell noted. “She was funny from Day 1 and had a lot of guts and a lot of heart.”

“The Mask” became one of the top ten highest-grossing films in 1994, launching Diaz’s successful acting career. She went on to star in notable films such as “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “There’s Something About Mary,” and “Being John Malkovich.”

After stepping away from acting following the 2014 film “Annie,” Diaz focused on her family and business endeavors, including co-founding the wine company Avaline. Her return to the screen in “Back in Action” marks a highly anticipated comeback for the actress.
