Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, took to social media and slammed Druski’s latest skit mocking Erika Kirk and conservative white women.
“Beneath contempt,” the conservative lawmaker said Thursday in a reshared post of the video on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Details on Druski’s latest skit
As Blavity previously reported, Druski, 31, dropped the video early Tuesday morning, dressed in a blonde wig, white pantsuit, and full prosthetics and makeup to resemble a white woman.
At the beginning of the clip, many viewers instantly recognized that Druski was mocking Kirk as he walked out onto a fake stage surrounded by pyrotechnics. This scene spoofs Kirk’s entrance at a packed memorial event held for her late husband, Charlie Kirk, back in September.
The video continues with Druski portraying a regular white woman, driving around in her car, listening to pop music, stopping for coffee with her dog, and participating in a pilates class. Kirk was lampooned several other times as Druski addressed themes such as Christianity, her love for America, and her remarks about white men.
How did fans react?
Druski released the video on all of his social platforms. Many fans and viewers thought the skit was funny and accurate in its portrayal of Kirk and conservative white women.
They also defended the comedian by pointing out that he has mocked rednecks, Black preachers, and other races before. However, other conservatives, of course, found it disrespectful, stating that Kirk had just lost her husband a few months ago and is still grieving.
On Thursday, Druski shared an Instagram carousel featuring himself in various skits, along with two photos of what appears to be his white grandfather — one from his childhood and another recent image of them holding a copy of Billboard magazine with his cover interview.
“TOO FAR ???”, he said, with three side-eye emojis, and Katie Perry’s “California Girls” as the post’s music.
Kirk has not publicly commented on the video.
