Ladies and gentlemen, girls and gays, we are still litigating the trauma of Megan Thee Stallion in 2025 because apparently, clout-chasing attorneys, deranged fans, and now a Florida congresswoman can’t let a convicted felon’s fantasy of innocence die with his rap career.
Tory Lanez is serving a whole-ass decade behind bars after being convicted of three felony counts for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. The rapper, whose biggest hit since then is getting shanked 14 times in prison, is still somehow trying to wriggle out of accountability like a greased-up weasel in a courtroom.
And now? A crusty rollout of alleged “new evidence” has triggered the attention of, of all people, Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and a YouTube-lawyer-turned-Instagram-legal-guru known as @theluncheonlawyer. Because what’s more legitimate than a legal case being tried in the comment section?
SZA Is DONE With Y’all
Enter: SZA. Our intuitive Pisces queen and “Freaky Girls” collaborator of Meg has had enough of the circus.
She was spotted by fans who really need a hobby in the comments of @theluncheonlawyer’s Instagram video discussing the so-called new evidence. And let’s just say, she didn’t mince words.
“The density !!!!! I’m actually SO shocked at the amount of ppl fully comfortable bullying a woman that’s proven to be a victim of assault,” SZA clapped back.
“Like out loud where other ppl can see you ?? Lmao u finna be stupid OUTLOUD ?”
She’s not wrong. The internet’s collective amnesia and willingness to gaslight a woman literally shot and bleeding in front of police is beyond embarrassing. It’s sociopathic.
Megan Thee Stallion Breaks Her Silence… Again
Meanwhile, Megan is being forced to defend herself all over again. On social media this week, she fired back with trademark clarity and zero patience.
“At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY,” she wrote. “At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me?”
She dragged the conspiracy theories straight to hell with this scorcher:
“One min him/ yall said I was never shot now yall letting him play in yall face AGAIN and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh ok… ? Ain’t no new f—ing evidence yall been saying the same sh– for years… TORY PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE you are a f—ing demon.”
No lies detected. Just hard truths and a woman desperate to stop being retraumatized by a fandom that treats misogynoir like a sport.
Lanez’s Stabbing, A PR Spin, and a Deranged Pardon Push
And in the middle of all this, Tory Lanez found himself stabbed within an inch of his life earlier this month inside California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. His rep told ABC News that the Toronto rapper was stabbed 14 times and suffered collapsed lungs but was “in good spirits.” Honestly? Nature is healing.
But Lanez’s legal team didn’t miss a beat. They immediately hit the media circuit, pushing a disorganized “new evidence” theory courtesy of Unite the People, a Los Angeles nonprofit. Their lawyer, Walter Roberts, claimed at a press conference that a man named Bradley James, allegedly Kelsey Harris’ bodyguard, overheard Harris admit to firing the gun. No video. No timestamp. No actual receipt. Just vibes.
Because sure, that sounds more reliable than forensic evidence and a court ruling.
Then, because this mess had to go federal, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, the QAnon Barbie of Florida’s 13th district, entered the chat.
“I am calling on Gov. Newsom @CAgovernor to review Tory Lanez’s case and issue a pardon,” she wrote on X. “His 10-year sentence was based on flawed evidence, political pressure, and prosecutorial bias.”
Girl, be for real.
She went on to promise that “compelling evidence” would drop within 36 hours. It’s been longer than that, and unless she meant compelling fan fiction, we’re still waiting.
Let the Victim Rest
Here’s the thing. Tory Lanez isn’t some misunderstood martyr. He’s a convicted felon who shot a woman, and then unleashed a tidal wave of PR spin, denial, and delusion that’s still flooding the internet five years later.
Megan Thee Stallion was shot. Tory Lanez was convicted. The courts ruled. The facts are public. And yet she’s still being forced to prove her trauma while her abuser gets sympathy from blue-checkgrifters and stab-happy prison blogs.
SZA said it best: y’all are being loud and wrong. And Megan? She’s owed peace, not another round of public trial by gossip column and comment section lawyers.
Free speech is cute. But not when it’s used to gaslight a Black woman who survived male violence in front of the world.
