The social media world exploded this week after model Emily Ratajkowski sashayed down the runway for Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2026 show at Milan Fashion Week, marking a new era under Demna’s creative direction.

The show at Palazzo delle Scintille blended 1990s throwbacks and streetwear elements typical of Demna’s style. Ratajkowski wore a tight silver mini dress, paired with an over-the-top, hip-swiveling walk that went viral on social media.

The public’s response to Ratajkowski’s walk was swift.

While some praised her confidence and commitment to the brand’s look and vibe, others were more negative, claiming that her walk was over-the-top, awkward, or even sexualized.

“One woman commented on the video, ‘How I walk when I’m drunk but I think I’m in control,’” someone else commented, “I’m sorry but it’s such a bad walk,” yet another commented, “I HATE STUPID PEOPLE, the quotes about this when Kate Moss walked the same way, it’s the brand that decides the walk, you bunch of brainless idiots.”

Not everyone was being so kind to Ratajkowski.

“They’re in the comments saying she’s walking like a GTA stripper,” commented one man on the video. “My Sims when I make them do the sexy strut,” commented another man on the video. “She’s had a terrible walk since day one, and it’s never improved,” commented a third.
