“Saturday Night Live” to Kick Off Milestone 50th Season with Star-Studded Lineup

NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” will launch its landmark 50th season on September 28, featuring a host of notable guests and musical acts. Emmy-winning actress Jean Smart will host the season premiere, marking her first appearance as “SNL” host. Smart, known for her outstanding role in HBO’s “Hacks,” recently won her third Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Country and rap artist Jelly Roll will make his musical guest debut on the same night. The Grammy-nominated artist is currently on tour and will release his new album, “Beautifully Broken,” on October 11.

The season continues with comedian Nate Bargatze returning as host on October 5. Bargatze, who is also on “The Be Funny Tour” this fall, will bring his unique humor back to the “SNL” stage.

British rock band Coldplay will appear as musical guests on October 5, marking their eighth appearance on the show. Coldplay’s 10th studio album, “Moon Music,” is set to be released on October 4.

On October 12, pop sensation Ariana Grande will host for the second time. Following the release of her latest album, “Eternal Sunshine,” Grande will also star in the highly anticipated film adaptation of “Wicked,” set to hit theaters on November 22.

Rock legend Stevie Nicks will return as musical guest on October 12. This will be her second appearance on “SNL,” following her first in 1983. Nicks is a Grammy-winning artist and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

Michael Keaton will make his fourth appearance as host on October 19. Keaton, known for his roles in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and “Goodrich,” will bring his comedic flair back to the show.

Billie Eilish will perform as a musical guest for the fourth time on October 19. Eilish, a Grammy-winning artist, is gearing up for a worldwide tour in support of her latest album, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.”

Comedian John Mulaney will return as host for the sixth time on November 2. Mulaney, who recently starred in the new Broadway play “All In: Comedy About Love,” opening on December 11, will bring his trademark wit to the show.

Chappell Roan will make her musical guest debut on November 2. Roan’s album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” has been a major success, and her latest single “Good Luck, Babe!” has garnered nearly 1 billion streams.

In addition to its NBC broadcast at 11:30 pm ET/8:30 pm PT, “SNL” will continue to stream live on Peacock. Fans can also catch every episode of “SNL” from past seasons on the streaming platform.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, “SNL” will host a special weekend of festivities, culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, February 16.
