Florida A&M head coach Quinn Gray has tapped veteran HBCU coach Toriano Morgan for a key role on his first Rattlers staff, further reshaping the program at his alma mater.
Morgan, most recently the offensive coordinator at Tennessee State, has agreed to join FAMU as assistant head coach, running backs coach, and recruiting coordinator, according to a report by Football Scoop.
At Tennessee State, Morgan guided the offense while the Tigers transitioned from former head coach Eddie George to Reggie Barlow, returning to his alma mater where he previously starred as a wide receiver and later launched his coaching career as a graduate assistant.
His résumé includes a four-year stint as head coach at Edward Waters, where he helped lead the program from the NAIA ranks into NCAA Division II, as well as earlier stops as an assistant at Virginia Union and Virginia State, and time as a successful high school head coach in South Florida.

Gray, a Florida A&M Hall of Fame quarterback and former NFL player, was approved as the Rattlers’ 20th head coach by FAMU’s Board of Trustees in December after the dismissal of James Colzie III.
Before returning to Tallahassee, Gray spent three seasons as head coach at Albany State, compiling a 24–11 record and delivering a program-best 12–2 campaign in 2025 that included an SIAC title and a trip to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals.
