Jay Permenter, a former Paramount and MTV Entertainment Communications publicist who helped launch some of Paramount’s biggest titles over the past several years, has launched his next chapter.
Permenter has announced his JDMA, described as an “independent creative strategy and communications group partnering with brands, talent, creators, athletes, and platforms across entertainment, fashion, lifestyle, sports, and live experiences.” Sitting at the intersection of “entertainment, storytelling and influence,” JDMA specializes in campaign strategies, public & media relations, cultural insights and special projects.
Clients of JDMA at launch include Symone, the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 winner who he has worked with over the years, dating back to her time on the show. Symone will star in Bleeker Street’s upcoming Adam Shankman-directed action-comedy, Stop! That! Train!, alongside RuPaul herself.
Marko Monroe, the celebrity stylist and designer who is a part of the House of Avalon with Symone, is also a client.
“I’m excited for this next chapter, said Permenter in a statement to Blavity’s Shadow and Act. “As entertainment continues to evolve, it will be essential to how audiences explore, identify and connect. JDMA builds on the work I’ve led, helping brands, talent and experiences show up in ways that are authentic, culturally aware, and positioned to matter.”
At Paramount, Permenter launched multiple seasons of the iconic and Emmy Award-winning phenomenon that is RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as The Hills: New Beginnings, Dexter: Resurrection, Noah’s Arc: The Movie, Teen Wolf: The Movie, the MTV Video Music Awards, the CMT Music Awards and more.
