Olivia Rodrigo is the latest celebrity to speak out after a Minneapolis man was shot and killed by an ICE operation, which drew a lot of anger.
On Saturday, January 24th, Alex Pretti, who was an intensive care nurse, was murdered, just under three weeks after federal agents murdered Renee Good.
Later that day, Rodrigo posted on Instagram Stories to express her anger at what happened.
The driver’s license singer posted an image with the caption “Murderous federal agency. Supporting the protesters. Tell the Senate to stop passing ANOTHER $10 BILLION in funding to this agency.”

In another Instagram story, she called the actions of ICE “unconscionable” and said, “We are not powerless. Our actions matter. I stand with Minnesota.”

This is not the first time Rodrigo has gone public with criticisms of ICE and the Department of Homeland Security.
She has spoken out before when one of her songs was used in a video encouraging undocumented immigrants to “self-deport.”
“Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,” she wrote in the comments at the time.
The investigation into the shooting of Pretti is underway, and protests have commenced in Minneapolis and other places in the US.
Other celebrities, including Mandy Moore, Ariana Grande, and Joe Keery, also made statements after the incident occurred.
