North Carolina A&T announces football schedule change

The much-anticipated North Carolina A&T/Norfolk State matchup is on hold for now.

The Aggies announced that replacing the Spartans for their Oct. 17 date is first-year program Chicago State.

The Cougars, coached by former Florida Memorial head coach Bobby Rome II, will visit Truist Stadium this season with A&T making a visit to SeatGeek Stadium in suburban Chicago in 2027.

The change in schedule takes place as Norfolk State, according to a statement released by North Carolina A&T, “opted to play against another opponent.”

Chicago State will play at least two HBCUs in their first season, as they will host another one of Rome’s former teams, Virginia-Lynchburg Nov. 21. Norfolk State also appears on the CSU schedule as a visitor on Sept. 26, but Norfolk State’s football schedule does not include that date at the moment.
