Lyle Menendez’s wife, Rebecca Sneed, has publicly addressed the swirling rumors of her husband’s alleged affair with a 21-year-old British woman, insisting that the situation has been misunderstood.
In a heartfelt post shared on Lyle’s official Facebook page, Rebecca clarified that the couple had been separated for some time, though they remain on good terms and united in their shared mission to fight for Lyle and his brother Erik’s release from prison.
“Guys! This is NOT a cheating scandal,” Rebecca wrote in her post. “Lyle and I have been separated for a while now but remain best friends and family. I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Erik’s freedom.” She also urged supporters to respect the page’s purpose as a space for abuse survivors and updates on the Menendez brothers’ case. Rebecca ended her message with a resolute promise: “I will never stop fighting for them. Please continue to join us in this fight!”
The clarification follows a sensational report from The Daily Mail, which alleges that Lyle, 56, has been carrying on a romantic relationship with Milly Bucksey, a 21-year-old woman he reportedly met through a Facebook fan group dedicated to him. Ironically, Rebecca herself initially created the group as part of her ongoing advocacy for Lyle’s freedom.
According to the report, Lyle started messaging Milly under an alias earlier this year and eventually revealed who he was. According to reports, their online interactions blossomed into a romance, with even Milly visiting Lyle at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, where he is serving out his sentence.
Photos obtained by The Daily Mail seemingly show Milly and Lyle posing together in the course of a September 14 visit. In one, Milly’s dog seems to join them in front of the prison’s photo backdrop. The logistics of their transatlantic connection haven’t stopped Milly from traveling over 5,000 miles to meet Lyle in person, cementing their relationship.
The report also says Lyle has used contraband phones to talk to Milly from behind bars. While one was allegedly confiscated; Lyle had allegedly obtained another device to continue the discussions. Sources said Lyle has spoken of plans to dump Rebecca for Milly, although such claims are often taken with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, Rebecca has supported Lyle through his legal battle and has even moved from Sacramento to San Diego to be closer to him. It has not been established whether Rebecca knew about the alleged affair before this became public, but a recent posting on her husband’s official Facebook page would indicate a preoccupation with dignity and solidity in the face of controversy.
