‘Love Is Blind’ Season 10 Cast On Deal Breakers, Early Red Flags: ‘It’s Like You’re Ghosting Each Other’

A new group of singles officially entered the pods on Season 10 of Love Is Blind.

This season follows a cast of Ohio-based hopefuls taking part in the high-intensity social experiment to determine whether emotional connection truly outweighs physical attraction.

The first six episodes premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and they waste no time delivering intense conversations, unexpected love triangles, honest confessions, dramatic rejections and undeniable romantic sparks.

Viewers watched as seven couples took the leap and got engaged: Mike & Emma, Christine & Vic, Connor & Bri, Alex & Ashley, Brittany & Devonta, Amber & Jordan and Chris & Jessica.

How they ended up in the pods

For many participants, the decision to enter the pods stemmed from frustration with modern dating and a desire to break old patterns.

“My two sisters actually applied for me,” Connor told Blavity’s Shadow and Act in a recent interview when asked what landed him on the show.

Fellow contestant Jordan began his quest for sight-unseen love after a friend referred him, while former professional soccer player Alex received a LinkedIn message that may have secured him the most important position of his life.

On the women’s side, burnout with real-world dating played a major role in their journeys to the pods.

“Dating in the real world was just not working out at all. It was pretty dead for me,” said Brittany.

The labor and delivery nurse added that the opportunity felt like a great way to “meet people that I would never have the chance to cross paths with.”

Her women’s lounge mate, Bri, viewed the experience as an extension of her “year of yes.”

“As this opportunity came up, it was like a why not? Like, what do I have to lose? Like, it’s worked out for other people in the past, like, why not me?” she said.

Early twists and deal breakers

One of the season’s earliest twists involved Jordan and his non-negotiables. Before filming, the software salesman told production that one of his deal breakers was dating a single parent. That stance quickly shifted when he fell for registered nurse Amber, who is a single mother.

“It’s the main reason out of all of this,” he said, reflecting on how everything unfolded.

After recognizing that his usual boundaries and deal breakers had led him to dating dead ends before, Jordan said he “threw himself into the experiment.”

“And here we are,” he added of the unexpected connection.

While Jordan confronted his personal bias early on, Brittany faced a different challenge when she and Devonta met in person and realized they weren’t each other’s typical types.

Instead of pulling away, she embraced the discomfort as part of the Love Is Blind process.

“My normal type obviously hasn’t been working for me. I wouldn’t be here,” she said. “So why would I not give this person that I love a chance to grow in a way that I wasn’t expecting? I’m not going to give up on somebody just because it’s not who typically would catch my eye.”

For Alex, the faceless pod experiment provided the perfect setting to challenge assumptions often placed on professional athletes.

“People do it to me,” he shared, referring to the “snap judgments” he receives based on his appearance and résumé.

“They’ll make a judgment based on how I look or what my past is. And I’ve done it with women as well. To kind of remove those and dive into what we’re actually here for was really refreshing.”

From the pods to paradise

After the whirlwind pod romances are revealed, the series follows the newly engaged couples to Cabo, where they must transition from emotional intimacy in isolation to building real lives together face-to-face.

Bri’s high-strung, Type A personality quickly clashed with Connor’s laid-back, nonchalant demeanor. Tension surfaced when Bri struggled with her desire to reconnect on a deeper level with her former “pod exes” during the couple’s trip.

“Investing time and energy into a relationship, whether that’s a friend or a romantic relationship, it’s important to me, and I wanted to just acknowledge and be grateful and thankful for those connections,” Bri said, emphasizing that she’s “very thoughtful” about her boundaries.

She explained that her need for closure was rooted in appreciation for the vulnerability shared in the pods by the men who were once potential matches.

“You leave the pods, and it’s like you’re ghosting each other,” Bri said of her failed connections, later adding, “There was no formal breakup.”

As emotions intensify and reality sets in, the real test begins.
