Lil Rel Howery is making his directorial debut in the upcoming horror-comedy film, Haunted Heist. He will also star in the film opposite Tiffany Haddish.
According to Deadline, Terrifier 3 sales firm The Coven are behind the film, with Mr. Crocket writer Carl Reid over the script.
The film will follow a rogue friend who ropes his other friends into stealing a house. But unbeknownst to them, the house is not what it seems.
According to the description:
“[F]our estranged friends reunite at what appears to be a typical house. But one friend has ulterior motives; he plans to rob the place and needs their help to find an antique worth a fortune. But the house is straight up haunted, and the group must squash their differences to survive the night and an insane pack of ghosts.”
Production will begin in January.
Howery will produce with Josh Feldman and Sean King O’Grady from Death Ground. Death Ground is the same group working with Howery for his sci-fi thriller The Mill; it is also behind Mr. Crocket.
Executive producers include Feras Majid Shammami and Jesse Ford from Robinwood7.
