Kansas City Chiefs to hire coach part of 2024 HBCU national championship staff

An HBCU coach is making the jump to the NFL.

Days after its Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly expected to hire Jackson State linebackers coach Chris Orr, according to 247Sports.

Orr, who spent one season during the Jackson State 2024 HBCU national championship season, will be a quality control coach in Kansas City.

He is the brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr.

Orr was previously the director of player development at his alma mater, Wisconsin, in 2021 before playing in the UFL and a brief stint with the Carolina Panthers.
