When Kamie Crawford isn’t helping people who suspect they’ve been catfished, the media personality ensures her wellness is intact.
Like many others during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Catfish host developed a fitness habit and hasn’t looked back. By changing her mindset around working out, Crawford has created many healthier habits, but even during cold and flu season, she isn’t immune to germs.
“I have always been a Mucinex girly,” Crawford shared.
She has also partnered with the company for a its No Regrets campaign with Tinder, to remind consumers that Mucinex Nightshift provides multi-symptom cold and flu relief to help them not only get a good night’s rest but wake up recharged and ready to go.
“Unfortunately, I’ve suffered with chronic sinusitis tonsillitis my whole life, but now I’ve been able to keep my symptoms under control and fix them at the start,” she continued. “Mucinex Nightshift is amazing because you can take it at night; you’ll sleep better, and then you’ll wake up feeling better. You get to wake up with no regrets the next day, having not taken the nighttime cold and flu medication that you know you should take. Sometimes, when you’re sick, you feel so down and out. You just want to go to bed but can’t do that. You have to take that medication to wake up the next day feeling better. That’s definitely a part of my wellness routine, making sure that I nip it in the bud before it even starts, and then the next day, I get to go about my day, take things one step at a time, drink my little lemon water and start all over again.”
The journey to a healthier lifestyle
As a person who is not a fan of sweating, Crawford knew she would have to find an approach to working out that was best for her, and that came from the motivation of wanting to look and feel good. Through hard work and discipline, she has become a fitness lover and has no plans of letting up anytime soon. She is a self-care queen and does not play about her Kamie time.
What does Kamie time look like?
“I’m in therapy. I’ve been in therapy for four years now almost, and that is my guaranteed one hour out of the week that I dedicate to myself, on top of the time that I spend in the gym. My trainer, who’s like my big brother, told me a long time ago, ‘You’re never not going to be busy, so you have to figure out a way to create something that works for you and works with your schedule and is flexible, but you have to make the decision.’”
She added, “I’ve taken that with me because it’s true, like, I’m never not going to be, God willing, traveling, never not going to be not working. It’s a choice. It’s a decision.”
Mucinex Nightshift may provide Crawford and others with no regrets regarding combatting cold and flu season flare-ups. Still, the former beauty queen also has an approach to living her life with no regrets.
“I just feel, genuinely, that everything happens for a reason, and I just think that there’s no point in having regrets, whether it’s in your dating life, career, wellness and health. I think that everything is a lesson. There’s something that you can learn from pretty much everything. So, I don’t look back on any bad moments and think, ‘Oh, I shouldn’t have done that.’ The only thing I regret is not having studied abroad, so that is my only singular regret. Other than that, I think everything that happens is supposed to, which has led me to where I am now. All the hardship has given me some tools I needed in my toolbox for where I am today.”
What is her outlet?
Another outlet for Crawford is her podcast, Relations**t, where she’s created a space to talk about the things we talk about in our group chats and everyday life but think we’re the only people experiencing those things.
“There are so many other people out there in the world who are experiencing the exact same thing as you, and you’re not alone. So I wanted to create a space that essentially allowed for safe judgment, free conversations about the things we’re all talking about,” Crawford declared. “And I’m so proud of that community. I’m so proud of my besties, and I’m honored because they write in every single week asking for relationship advice, and they trust me with their stories, anonymous or not. I’ve always been somebody who people reach out to when they need advice about literally anything, so it just felt very natural to me to do that. And yeah, I’m glad that I did. I almost didn’t start a podcast. I would have had regrets about that. So I’m glad that I did that.”
As she looks ahead, Crawford continues aligning with the same talk show dreams she had early on. While she feels called to produce and create her shows, Crawford also aims to run fervently toward the things that scare her the most.
