After a two-hour weather delay, Jackson State and ULM traded touchdowns through the first 33 minutes before the Warhawks were able to pull away for a 30-14 victory at Malone Stadium.
After Jackson State (0-1) tied the game at 14-all with 11:41 remaining in the third, ULM scored 17 unanswered points, including nine in the fourth quarter.
Jacobian Morgan finished 23 of 28 passing for 228 yards and a touchdown and added 21 yards on the ground with a third quarter touchdown. Ahmad Miller led Jackson State with 46 yards on the ground on nine carries.
The Tigers had seven different players catch a pass in the loss, with Travis Terrell Jr. recording six catches (on seven targets) for 45 yards. Marvin Landy and Rico Powers Jr. added four catches each.
Defensively, Ashton Taylor led the way with 10 tackles and Reid Pulliam eight.
