Jackson State All-SWAC running back Ahmad Miller enters transfer portal

Following Jackson State’s SWAC championship loss to Prairie View A&M, star running back Ahmad Miller has announced he is entering the transfer portal with at least two years of eligibility remaining.

Miller, brother of former Jackson State All-SWAC linebacker Aubrey Miller, committed to play for the Tigers out of high school in 2023.

He had his first breakout performance as a freshman against Texas State, rushing for 98 yards on 13 attempts.

After a promising start to the 2024 season, playing behind 2024 SWAC Offensive Player of the Year Irv Mulligan, his year was cut short after three games due to injury.

The 2025 campaign served as Miller’s first chance to be the number-one running back on the depth chart.

The Tigers’ back made the most of the opportunity, recording a SWAC-leading 1,054 rushing yards on 6.4 yards per carry, scoring six touchdowns. He was named to the All-SWAC First Team.

This included a career-best performance in the season opener against Hampton in which he rushed for 180 yards on 12 attempts and scored two touchdowns.

He is the third different Jackson State running back to have rushed for over 1,000 yards in the past four seasons (Sy’Veon Wilkerson, 2022; Irv Mulligan, 2024).
