Howard was just seconds away from a home win over Yale when the ball — and luck — didn’t bounce their way.
With Bison ahead 71-68 in the final seconds, Yale forward Jordan Brathwaite unleashed one of the most improbable shots of the college basketball season Monday night.
He nailed a desperation heave from the corner with five seconds left to tie it and force overtime in a wild non-conference thriller at Burr Gymnasium.

The game, pitting Ivy League Yale against MEAC power Howard, featured end-to-end action with both teams trading momentum.
Brathwaite’s shot—one described as “one of the wildest”— stunned the crowd at Burr. Yale would seize on the turn of events to win 87-81 in overtime.
The loss snapped a 3-game winning streak for the Bison, who return to MEAC play versus Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday.
