By Jillian Simpson In November 2025, the Board of Directors of the Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) unanimously voted to install Davinia Reed as the Museum’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2026. She succeeds Dr. John Guess Jr., who 13 years ago was charged by the Board with making tangible the vision of an African American museum in Houston.
