HBO’s The Penguin Takes Flight This September

HBO’s highly anticipated limited series, The Penguin, will make its grand debut on Thursday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series will also be available to stream on Max.

Continuing the gritty world established in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, the series follows the rise of Oswald Cobblepot, the iconic DC Comics character brought to life by Colin Farrell. With a star-studded cast and a compelling narrative, The Penguin promises to delve deeper into the complex character and the corrupt underbelly of Gotham City.

Showrunner Lauren LeFranc has crafted a series that expands upon the world introduced in the blockbuster film. The eight-episode limited series will air weekly on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and Max, beginning September 29.

The Penguin stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, alongside a talented ensemble including Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Michael Zegen, Carmen Ejogo, and Theo Rossi.

The series is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, Craig Zobel, and Bill Carraro. Based on characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, The Penguin is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer.
