HBCU coach makes social media plea to fans: Why isn’t homecoming sold out?

Just days before the Prairie View A&M homecoming game, head coach Tremaine Jackson took to social media with a fiery message to fans.

Buy your tickets.

Jackson, whose Panthers sit atop the SWAC West standings at 5–2 overall and 4–0 in conference play, expressed disbelief that the upcoming homecoming game versus Lincoln University (California) wasn’t yet sold out. In a spirited video posted to Instagram and X, Jackson encouraged the fans to act.

“PV Nation, Happy Homecoming,” Jackson began. “I just talked to Josh, our ticket guy, and the game isn’t sold out — and I can’t understand why. This is Homecoming at Prairie View A&M. We have Panther Stadium, we have a winning team, and we need that energy from our fans. If the game isn’t sold out, why even come back here?”

Still riding momentum from a dominant 24–3 road win over Southern University, Jackson’s team heads into Homecoming as one of the SWAC’s hottest teams.

“There’s no line,” Jackson continued. “Where’s the line? There was a line out here when we went to the Cotton Bowl. Where is the line? Make sure you support this Panther football team. Go Panthers.”

Homecoming weekend at Prairie View A&M — known for its electric mix of football, tailgates, and festivities — is expected to bring hundreds of alumni and fans back to campus.

As Jackson sees it, none of it means as much without a packed house inside Panther Stadium. “We’ve worked too hard not to have the stands full of purple and gold,” he told fans online. “We need our people in the seats.”

For the coach who’s reshaped Prairie View’s identity around discipline, grit, and swagger, his latest message was simple — support the team that’s giving PV Nation something to cheer about.
