Hampton removes interim tag, name Trent Boykin full-time head coach

Trent Boykin was officially announced as the full-time head coach of Hampton football on Tuesday.

The school elevated Boykin from interim coach, according to the program’s X account. He had been in the position to start the season after former coach Robert Prunty left the program in the offseason.

Boykin had been part of the Pirates football program since 2020 after previously serving as the run game coordinator at Akron. He also worked as an assistant at Boston College and Ball State.

Under Boykin this season, Hampton is 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the CAA.
