Gaia Wise and Laurence Ubong Williams Open Up About ‘The War of the Rohirrim’ and the LOTR Legacy

LOTR

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is not your ordinary movie and not your ordinary LOTR, it’s The Anime version. Directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Peter Jackson, this unique story takes place 183 years before the original trilogy took place

Staring and voiced by Christopher Lee, Brian Cox, Miranda Otto, Gaia Wise & Laurence Ubong WIlliams, The new Lord of The Rings brings a different version and outlook of the original story, giving us an inside look at the ancestors that came before the beloved characters we originally met in 2001.

I had the opportunity to sit down with cast members Gaia Wise (voice of Hera) ( daughter of actress Emma Thompson) and Laurence Ubong Williams ( voice of Fréaláf). Gaia and Laurence were not only amazing and lovely, but amazing actors and voice actors. We chatted about the process and the difference between live-action movies vs. anime and animated movies. The two actors stated that the process of the movie was 3 years and even though it was a long process, it feels like time flew by for them.

With family and loyalty at the helm and forefront of this picture, Héra has to be resilient, stand up for what’s right, and balance family and friendship.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM releases in theaters December 13th.
