Smithsonian museums reopen in DC after government shutdown After being closed for more than a month due to the government shutdown, Smithsonian museums are set to reopen on a rolling basis. Florida A&M University is having an expanded presence at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) with the debut of a new exhibition.
