ESPN Band of the Year committee reveals HBCU bands headed to Celebration Bowl

While it is unclear which football teams will compete in Atlanta for the annual Celebration Bowl title just yet, the marching bands are all set to compete for an HBCU championship.

The ESPN Band of the Year officials revealed on Monday that North Carolina A&T, Florida A&M, and Miles College made the season’s long final four.

On Dec. 13, the night before the Celebration Bowl, North Carolina A&T will face Florida A&M in the Division I final. Miles College and Virginia State will meet in the Division II bracket championship round to determine a winner.

Throughout the season, a panel of experts in marching bands provided rankings of HBCU band performances based on musicianship, accuracy, drum line, drum majors, dance corps and other relevant criteria.

The ESPN Band of the Year title will be determined in the Mercedes-Benz Dome in Atlanta. The show will start at 7 p.m. EST and be simulcast on ESPN3 and ESPN Plus.
