RIAA Platinum-certified singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Claire Rosinkranz released her highly anticipated sophomore album, My Lover, on Tuesday through 10K/Atlantic Records. Produced by Oliver Frid, known for his work with Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, and Little Mix, and executive-produced by Rosinkranz’s longtime collaborator, Ragnar Rosinkranz, the album is described as a luminous coming-of-age record rooted in growth, vulnerability, and transformation.
In celebration of the release, Rosinkranz is set to perform her buoyant, New York City-inspired track, “City,” on NBC’s TODAY show on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The 13-track album uses the imagery of a garden as a metaphor for life. “Roots tangled with weeds, beauty right next to rot, things dying so other things can grow,” Rosinkranz said. “My Lover is an honest reintroduction to me and my world. It explores many different relationships in my life — romantic love, my relationship to sickness and health, friendships, and much more.”
The album’s lead single, “City,” was inspired by a perfect NYC summer night. Rosinkranz said the song emerged from a bike ride across the Brooklyn Bridge that turned into dancing the night away, encapsulating the album’s theme that personal growth happens in motion rather than in the search for it.
Other tracks released ahead of the album, including “Kiss,” “Dancer,” “Lucy,” “Crazy Bitch” and “Chronic,” have established Rosinkranz as an artist unafraid to mine personal vulnerability.
She currently boasts more than 1 billion global streams and will bring her new music to life on a spring headline tour starting April 28th in Seattle.
