The Buzbee Law Firm, led by high-profile attorney Tony Buzbee, has filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, as well as attorney Marcy Croft and the prominent law firm Quinn Emanuel. The suit accuses the defendants of engaging in a scheme involving barratry, impersonation of public officials, and other violations of Texas law.
According to the lawsuit, representatives affiliated with Roc Nation allegedly posed as state officials and approached former clients of The Buzbee Law Firm, offering them $10,000 to file lawsuits against the firm. The Buzbee Law Firm claims these acts were part of a coordinated effort to tarnish its reputation and derail its ongoing litigation tied to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York.
Buzbee alleges the misconduct was captured on tape and occurred more than 24 times, leading to at least two lawsuits against his firm. The lawsuit also claims that Roc Nation is funding these activities, with Marcy Croft and Quinn Emanuel playing central roles in orchestrating the operation.
“We will not be bullied or intimidated,” Buzbee declared in a statement posted to his Instagram account. He emphasized that the alleged misconduct has been reported to law enforcement and that his firm will vigorously pursue justice against all parties involved.
The lawsuit seeks damages and other relief to hold the defendants accountable. It also accuses them of undermining the integrity of the legal system through fraudulent and unethical practices.
Representatives for Roc Nation, Quinn Emanuel, and Marcy Croft have not yet publicly commented on the allegations.
