Following last season’s cast changes on Basketball Wives, which saw the return of Brandi Maxielle, and the exits of British Williams and Malaysia Pargo, the VH1 reality series is undergoing another overhaul. Brooke Bailey confirmed on social media that she will not be returning for the upcoming season.
Blogger Spilling BBW Tea initially reported Bailey’s departure. Evelyn Lozada, a longtime cast member, later addressed the news during an Instagram Q&A, as Urban Belle Mag reported.
Here’s what Evelyn Lozada said about Brooke Bailey leaving the show
When asked if she would miss filming with Bailey, Lozada said, “Yes. Absolutely. I love Brooke. We talk; I actually talked to her today. We have a friendship outside of the show. It’s not a forced friendship.”
Bailey elaborated on X, formerly Twitter, stating her exit was unrelated to conflicts with her co-stars. Instead, she cited personal priorities. “Film #basketballwives < Fly on PJ’s all over Africa & get treated like princess Simple math! No cast member has the POWER to FIRE ME . Stop the CAP ,” she wrote.
Jac’Eil Duckworth is also allegedly exiting the show
Spilling BBW Tea also reported that Jac’Eil Duckworth, who made history as the first WNBA spouse on the show, will not return next season. Duckworth’s presence sparked varied reactions among fans, with some alleging she lacked individuality and aligned too closely with Bailey and Lozada.
Friendship fallout between Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams
The shakeups extend beyond casting. Evelyn Lozada recently confirmed she is no longer on speaking terms with Jennifer Williams, her former on-again, off-again best friend. Williams married businessman Christian Gold, who allegedly has a history of domestic violence—a union Lozada did not support. Lozada’s absence from the wedding appears to have deepened their estrangement.
