GRAMMY® Award-winning icon Alicia Keys will be honored with the prestigious Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the fourth annual Recording Academy® Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective. The event, set to take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza, celebrates individuals whose influence transcends music and embodies global excellence, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
Introduced in 2023 and named after legendary producer Dr. Dre, the award recognizes trailblazing artists who leave an indelible mark on culture. “From her timeless music to her unwavering dedication to uplifting others, Alicia has made an indelible impact on the world,” said Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “Alicia embodies everything the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award represents – her artistry knows no bounds, her advocacy inspires meaningful change, and her influence has profoundly shaped culture.”
A Multifaceted Legacy
Alicia Keys has amassed an extraordinary list of achievements in her two-decade career. A 16-time GRAMMY winner, she has sold over 65 million records worldwide and received over five billion streams. Her 2001 debut, Songs in A Minor, catapulted her to stardom, and she has since become the most RIAA-certified female R&B artist of the millennium, with 37 million certified track sales and 20 million album sales in the U.S.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, Keys is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and advocate for women in music. She co-founded She Is The Music, an initiative aimed at achieving gender equality in the industry, and has spearheaded numerous philanthropic projects.
Keys is also a New York Times bestselling author and producer. Her book More Myself: A Journey spent multiple weeks on the bestseller list, and her 2023 graphic novel Girl on Fire received critical acclaim. Beyond music, her creative ventures include producing the GRAMMY-nominated Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen, which opened in April 2024 to rave reviews.
A Celebrated Year
This recognition caps a busy and celebrated few years for Keys. In 2022, she released her first holiday album, Santa Baby, featuring the hit single “December Back 2 June.” In 2023, she captivated audiences with her Keys to the Summer tour, which redefined live performance with its immersive 360-degree design.
A Night to Remember
The fourth annual Recording Academy Honors will once again be produced by MVD Inc., with Adam Blackstone returning as music supervisor. As one of the most celebrated figures in modern music, Keys’ receipt of the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award solidifies her place as a cultural and artistic trailblazer.
