Micah Simpson to Amarr Knox made March Madness.
Knox converted a layup with 1.0 seconds left on a full-court tipped pass from Simpson that resulted in SWAC champion Alabama State beating Saint Francis (PA) 70-68 in the NCAA Tournament First Four game on Tuesday night.
The Hornets (20-15) will now face No. 1 seed Auburn in the Round of 64 on Thursday after extending its winning streak to seven games.
Knox led Alabama State with a game-high 18 points.

Valentino Pinedo scored 17 points for Saint Francis, the Northeast Conference champions, while Riley Parker had 12 and Juan Cranford added 18.
Saint Francis, which had won its conference tournament in dramatic fashion with three consecutive overtime victories, could not replicate that magic against the more consistent Hornets.
This victory marks Alabama State’s first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament, a significant milestone for the program.
