Alabama A&M gains Power 4 quarterback from transfer portal

Alabama A&M has added a quarterback who previously spent time at a Power 4 program to their roster.

Bekkam Kritza, who spent last season with Big Ten member Penn State, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs football program on social media Monday afternoon.

Kritza, rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, threw for over 5,000 yards and 56 touchdown passes at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida. He committed to Penn State but did not see any time during the 2025 season.

Alabama A&M currently has four quarterbacks listed on their 2026 roster, including Quad Brown and Eric Handley, who saw the bulk of playing time in Sam Shade’s first season as head coach. Brown played in four games, completing 81 of 125 passes for 1060 yards and seven touchdowns while Handley played in 11 games, completing 132 of 226 passes for 1360 and six touchdowns.
