Former CIAA Defensive Player of the Year signs with Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced they are signing former Bowie State defensive lineman Joshua Pryor to a one-year deal.

As an undrafted free agent in the 2023 rookie class, Pryor played seven games for the Washington Commanders last season, primarily on special teams.

In the team’s season-finale against the Dallas Cowboys, Pryor blocked a field goal attempt, setting up a Commanders touchdown on offense.

After being waived by the Commanders on May 7, the former Bulldog was added to the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie minicamp roster. He then worked out for the Baltimore Ravens before landing in Cincinnati.

Pryor’s historic college career at Bowie State saw him set new school records for career sacks (32.0) and tackles for loss (77.0) while also finishing second in career tackles (245).

He helped lead the Bulldogs to three straight CIAA titles from 2018-2021 and won the CIAA Defensive Player of the Year award in his final year in the 2022 season.
