Emma Harner, the singer-songwriter-guitarist who’s been creating a lot of buzz, is releasing her debut album, titled “Evening Star.” The album is an 11-track collection that combines the warmth and intimacy of folk music with the sharp, angular sounds of math rock.
Harner wrote and played every part on the album, which is a deliberate choice for her. The album is produced by Grammy nominee Jamie Mefford, who’s also produced music for Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jamestown Revival, and more.
According to Harner, “Evening Star” is her album about nostalgia, longing, and everything else that’s been going through her head in recent years. For those who have been watching her write this album through her little teasers, this is going to be a treat, as they’ll finally hear their favorite songs in full.
Some of her recent singles, such as “Gale,” “Seams,” and “You’re Right,” are also on this album.
Harner is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, but currently resides in Boston. She’s been getting a lot of attention for her videos that have gone viral across Instagram and TikTok. She’s been called “not only a compelling songwriter but one of America’s most impressive new guitarists” by Guitar.com. She’s been getting a lot of love from tastemakers like Zane Lowe, Rick Beato, and Fretboard Journal.
She’s had a breakout year with her EP “Taking My Side” and her tour, with sold-out performances in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
