The Chi has added six new cast members to its recurring cast for the eighth and final season.
Daryl Dunning II, Biko Eisen-Martin, Akilah A. Walker, Laila Odom, Liza Jessie Peterson and Anthony B. Jenkins have all been cast in the Paramount+ series.
They join series stars Jacob Latimore, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Hannaha Hall and Jason Weaver, as well as returning cast stars Rolando Boyce, Ahmad Ferguson, Zaria Primer, Cortez Smith, Rotimi, Barton Fitzpatrick, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Kyla Pratt, Reagan Gomez, Amari Noelle Ferguson, Tammy Townsend, Punkie Johnson, Karrueche Tran, L’lerret Jazelle, Jackie Long, Monroe Alise, Kennedy Amaya and Aina Brei’Yon.
Who will the new characters be?
Dunning II is playing Rafi, “one of Nuck’s quick-tempered enforcers.” Eisen-Martin is Smitty, “a reformed gangster, hardened by the streets and humbled by life.” Walker is “Smitty’s fiery girlfriend who wants more out of life.” Odom will be Jordan, “Keith’s girlfriend who is a nurse but still has ties to the streets.” Peterson will play Patience, “Rashaad’s no-nonsense attorney with the heart of an activist.” And Jenkins is Devante, “Emmett and Shay’s son who moves in with Emmett and Kiesha after getting into trouble at school.”

Created and executive produced by Lena Waithe, James Rogers III is executive producer for Season 8. Other executive producers include Common, Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Resheida Brady-Anderson, ID8 Multimedia’s Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone, Naomi Funabashi and Rishi Rajani. Deondray Gossfield and Quincy LeNear Gossfield, who will direct several episodes, have been promoted to co-executive producers.
