An all-Black Little League team made history in 2014. Their journey is the subject of the documentary, One Golden Summer.
The film, acquired by TNT Sports in partnership with OWN, focuses on a team of boys from Chicago who become the first all-Black team to win the U.S. Little League Championship. But their title was stripped from them months later over controversy. According to the description, the film explores “the intersection of excellence, systemic hurdles, and the unbreakable bond of a team.”
