An Iranian influencer, Mooné Rahimi, who posted a video on social media performing a “Trump dance” earlier this month, celebrating U.S.-Israel airstrikes on Iran that began on February 28th, has revealed her cousin has passed away.
Recently, Rahimi posted on social media a childhood picture of herself and her cousin, who died last week in the Iran conflict. In an emotional post, Rahimi blamed Iran’s ruling government for the death of her cousin and other people who died in the Iran-U.S. conflict.
“This is me on the left with my beloved cousin whom I lost last week. He would be alive if there was no Islamic regime, “Rahimi wrote on social media. “I’m writing this with tearful eyes.”
She further stated that thousands of innocent people, including children and pregnant women, died in the Iran-U.S. conflict.
“The Islamic regime took everything I could have had: my freedom, my rights, my happiness, my youth, and so much more,” she said, adding that “the whole world ignores us.”
Rahimi also accused Iran’s leadership and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of perpetuating violence to preserve its ideology, while criticizing what she described as global inaction.
The post followed renewed attention from the account Clash Report, which stated that Rahimi, who had supported airstrikes on Iran, now says her cousin was killed in the war.
Rahimi pushed back strongly against that characterization, disputing both the framing of the conflict and her stance.
“Where I said ‘in the war’? I always emphasize that this is not a war; this is a rescue mission,” she wrote. “The reason I lost my cousin is only and only the Islamic regime and no one else. Shame on you, Clash Report, for spreading false information.”
She also urged followers to report the account.
