FKA twigs has filed a new lawsuit against her ex-partner Shia LaBeouf, claiming the actor is attempting to silence her by imposing unlawful provisions related to a previous settlement related to the singer’s previous claims of sexual battery.
The 38-year-old pop star, whose song is called “Eusexua,” initially filed the lawsuit against the actor in 2020 for sexual battery during their relationship from 2018 to 2019. In the previous lawsuit, the pop star had claimed the actor had infected her with a venereal disease, slammed her against a car during the relationship, and even tried to strangle her. She had requested the dismissal of the case in 2025.
According to legal documents filed by the pop star and obtained by TMZ, FKA twigs claims the actor had included unlawful provisions in the non-disclosure agreement from the previous settlement. The pop star claims the provisions included by the actor are a violation of the Stand Together Against Non-Disclosure Act, a 2018 law enacted by the state of California prohibiting confidentiality clauses from being included in a settlement related to a claim for sexual harassment, assault, or other forms of sex-based discrimination.
According to the documents filed by the pop star, the actor had filed a confidential arbitration claim in December 2024, alleging that the pop star had violated the non-disclosure agreement by making comments for a cover story in the Hollywood Reporter. The actor is seeking an “exorbitant” financial penalty for the violation.
In this interview, FKA twigs was quoted as saying she does not feel safe, even though the case has been settled. “I wouldn’t say I feel safe,” she said in the interview. “I feel really passionate about being involved with organizations such as Sistah Space and No More, to help survivors in any way that I can. I think it’s less about me at this point and more about looking forward. Just, you know, moving on with my life.”
FKA twigs also stated that she wants to make sure that the “survivors are not bullied or silenced like she was.”
It has also been stated that the actions of LaBeouf constitute a “campaign of intimidation and abuse of the legal system” that “denigrates” FKA twigs and “other survivors of sexual abuse in California.”
There have been several cases filed against LaBeouf in the past few years. He was also seen in Rome, where he was reportedly shouting at a woman on the street.
There has been no immediate reaction to this case by LaBeouf or his representatives.
