The National Police stated on Sunday that they are chasing a man who allegedly murdered his former girlfriend in the Santo Domingo Norte area.
The victim was identified as Randielis Michel Rudecindo, a 20-year-old woman who was murdered by a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner.
The suspect is Ziel Gulbert, a U.S. citizen who has yet to be apprehended by the Police.
Migration controls have been put in place at the airport, ports, and the border to ensure that the suspect does not flee the country.
The Police stated that the crime was committed on Mauricio Báez Street in the Los Guaricanos neighborhood.
According to the Police, the victim was walking to a store with another person when the suspect approached her in a vehicle and confronted her after exiting the car and subsequently shot her, killing her instantly before running in an unknown direction.
