The first look images from the eighth and final season of The Chi show characters giving birth, having fun, and in some cases, brandishing some guns.
According to Paramount+, production of the season began this January, and this season is billed as the “coldest winter ever” in which “life or death choices must be made.”
“The question becomes, who is willing to make them?” according to the description. “Legacy, conflict, joy, and pain. It all collides in the biggest, most emotionally riveting way ever seen this season on The Chi.” The new season comes after two deaths at the end of the previous season. OG cast member Yolonda Ross’s character, Jada Washington, died of cancer, and Lynn Whitfield’s Alicia was murdered.
Created and executive produced by Lena Waithe, The Chi stars Jacob Latimore, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Hannaha Hall and Jason Weaver for the upcoming season.
