Raven-Symoné is once again sharing her story about some of the negative experiences she faced as a child star in Hollywood during a recent sit-down with The Shade Room.
Raven-Symoné says she wanted to get lipo, and that the breast reductions weren’t ‘forced,’ but there was manipulation
During the interview, Raven told The Shade Room that she underwent two breast reduction surgeries and liposuction as a teenager. The former Disney star said she didn’t ask for either procedure, though she did want to get the liposuction. She then added that the breast reductions weren’t forced, “but there was manipulation at hand.”
“I’m writing my memoir and I really go into depth of the journey that I’ve taken in the Hollywood scene,” she said in her interview with The Shade Room, according to Complex.
This isn’t the first time that Raven-Symoné has opened up about getting two breast reductions
As Blavity reported, Raven opened up about her breast reductions in 2025 when she sat down for an interview on The Jason Lee Show. At that time, she shared how her late father, Christopher Pearman, was involved in the traumatic experience.
Raven told host Jason Lee that she’s relieved that her father is now dead since he forced her to have breast reduction surgeries at such a young age.
“I had multiple issues from that,” Raven told Jason Lee. “I am in EMDR therapy right now, undoing, reworking and getting ready for what this book would say. I couldn’t until there were a few people that were no longer on this planet.”
The actress opened up about the experience on her Tea Time with Raven & Miranda podcast. During a December 2025 episode of her podcast, Raven said the adults in her life advised her to get breast reductions.
“I went from a triple D all the way down to a B. Someone said I needed to do it in order to get a show,” Raven said on her podcast, adding that her father “suggested strongly” to get the procedure.
According to People, she also said she got liposuction because she was tired of people calling her fat.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’ And so, I got a twofer,’” she said.
