Sabrina Carpenter Wears Messi’s No. 10 While Lip Syncing to Bad Bunny and the Internet Reacts

Sabrina Carpenter shared a short clip in which she was seen sporting an Argentina national team jersey and lip-syncing to a Bad Bunny song.

In the short clip posted to her TikTok account, Sabrina was seen sporting Argentina’s No. 10 jersey, famously worn by the country’s legendary soccer star Lionel Messi, while lip-syncing to Bad Bunny’s hit single “Tití Me Preguntó”.

The clip comes at a time when Sabrina is touring Latin American countries, headlining several Lollapalooza concerts across the region this month.

Messi, regarded as one of the world’s best football players, is a national icon in Argentina. Lollapalooza 2026 was held in Argentina from March 13 to 15. Sabrina was one of the headlining acts at the festival.

Although the back of the shirt was not shown in the clip, the No. 10 shirt is synonymous with Messi, who has worn the shirt for Argentina throughout his illustrious career.

The clip soon went viral, and people reacted to it in different ways.

“Ofc the main pop girl is a Messi fan,” someone wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

However, some answers were more critical in their tone. One commenter commented on how “a crazy thing to do” by wearing a Messi jersey, implying that Carpenter deserved some criticism for her choice. Another commenter joked that she could have performed a song by an Argentine artist, saying, “she could’ve at least done a song by an Argentinian… you coulda done Bizarrap or TINI, girl.”

Carpenter’s nod to Messi is not the first time she has referenced the Argentine football star during her visit to Argentina. In fact, in November 2023, when Carpenter opened for Taylor Swift during the Buenos Aires concerts of the “Eras Tour,” she made a clever modification to her set. “When I’m in the bedroom, I feel sexy. He’s having a ball; he calls me Messi. Argentina, will you be my bestie?” 

Carpenter sang, referencing the football icon. With Lollapalooza Argentina now behind her, Carpenter will continue her Latin American festival circuit with upcoming performances at Lollapalooza Brazil and Estéreo Picnic in Colombia this month.
