South Carolina State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Johnathan Williams has been named to the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks coaching staff, the team announced.

Williams’ move to the professional ranks comes after an impressive eight-year run in college football, capped by a standout 2025 season in Orangeburg. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs finished 10–3, averaged 32.4 points per game, and captured the Celebration Bowl title — reestablishing South Carolina State as a power in HBCU football.

Known for his player development and creative offensive schemes, Williams played a key role in the emergence of several All-MEAC performers while helping elevate the Bulldogs attack.

Before joining the Bulldogs, he served in the same capacity at Benedict College, helping the Tigers to an 11-1 record and a SIAC championship, following two seasons as Southern University’s quarterbacks coach.

He began his coaching career at Prairie View A&M as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2018

While Seattle has not yet announced Williams’ specific role, his proven track record of molding young quarterbacks and designing explosive offenses aligns with the team’s focus on innovation and player development entering the 2026 season.
