Blair Underwood To Star In ‘Doc’ Season 3 At Fox, Will First Appear In Season 2 Finale

Blair Underwood is joining Fox’s medical drama Doc for its upcoming third season.

Underwood will join the series as a new regular, playing Dr. Ben Grant. The character will first appear during the Season 2 finale before becoming a major part of Season 3, Variety reported.

Dr. Grant is described as a “world-class trauma and cardiothoracic surgeon with an ego that somehow outpaces even his resume.” He is a “once-in-a-generation” talent who also throws his weight around in the operating room with swag and charisma. But when he runs into Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker), the two bump heads in a big way. According to the description reported by Variety, “their approaches clash, egos collide and sparks fly in a way Westside has never seen.”

“Together, their brilliance is unmatched–as long as they can survive each other,” according to the description.

Based on Italian medical drama Doc-Nelle tue mani, the series stars Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. But after a brain injury robs her of memories of the last eight years of her life, Amy must now figure out how to still practice medicine and traverse her personal relationships without key information.

Who else stars in ‘Doc’?

The series also stars Felicity Huffman Patrick Walker, Amirah Vann, Omar Metwalley, Jon Ecker, Anya Banerjee and Scott Wolf. Barbie Kligman serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner.
