A tough season for Shaw women’s basketball has officially come to an end with a coaching
As first reported by HBCU basketball expert Olivia Antilla, Lady Bears interim coach Lou Hamilton will not return for the 2026-27 season.

Hamilton was named interim head coach following longtime coach Jacques Curtis’ sudden retirement in October after abuse allegations surfaced. The Lady Bears went 8-16 overall (5-11 conference) in Hamilton’s lone season at the helm, ending with an 82-56 loss to Bluefield State in the CIAA tournament.
