Bowie State decimates Lincoln (PA); ends regular season on an eight-game win streak

The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs put an end to their remarkable regular season on a dominant note, beating the Lincoln (PA) Lady Lions 90-44.

Bowie State ends the regular season on an eight-game win streak, finishing with an 18-7 overall record and a 11-5 conference record.

Senior guard Mia Smith led all scorers with a season-high 31 points on 75% shooting from the field, hitting 5-of-7 shots from three-point range. She also grabbed nine rebounds and swiped three steals.

Afia Owusu-Mensah, the only other scorer in the game in double figures, contributed 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

From the opening tip, this game was a no contest as the Bulldogs scored the first 11 points and outscored the Lions 17-2 in the first five minutes.

The onslaught was on and it never stopped, highlighted by a dominant performance in the paint, outpointing Lincoln 44-14 in the restricted area.

As a result of their win and Virginia State’s loss to Virginia Union, the Bulldogs claim the number-one seed for the Northern division in the CIAA tournament.

Bowie will advance past the Quarterfinal round of the tournament, awaiting the winner of the opening-round matchup between Livingstone and Elizabeth City State.
